JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's University men's basketball head coach
Bashir Mason has been named to the 2025-26 Advancing Beyond In Sports (ABIS) Coaches Watchlist, which includes top men's and women's head and assistant coaches from across the country.
This season, Mason led Saint Peter's to a second-place finish in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) after being voted 11th in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Peacocks ended the regular season 17-11 overall and 14-6 in conference play for just the fourth time in school history.
The Peacocks went 13-1 at home this year, making it their best record at home since going 14-0 in 1983-84. They also went undefeated at home in conference play for just the second time ever.
Mason boasts a career coaching record of 227-190 (.544) over 14 years and a 62-60 (.508) mark while at Saint Peter's.
The ABIS Coaches Watchlist includes collegiate and professional sports top men's and women's head and assistant coaches from across the country in multiple sports. This year's lists are recognized by their peers as some of the best in the business. Those nominated are considered to be the year's most deserving, qualified, and prepared coaches in college and professional sports to elevate their careers to the next level.
