JERSEY CITY, NJ – The wait is over for the Saint Peter's Track & Field team as the Peacocks open their outdoor season. Saint Peter's begins the campaign with its home opener against FDU on Wednesday, March 25, before heading on the road for Monmouth's home opener on March 27-28.
Wednesday's dual meet will take place at Lincoln Park, with field events beginning at 11 a.m. and track events set to start at 12:30 p.m. Prior to the meet, the Peacocks will honor their senior class:
Michael Amaker, Cashieve Blair, Ciara Brown, Amari Campbell, Malique Jackson, Karilynn Jimenez, Elijah Kiboma, Gerardo Quaglia, Kennedy Vaughn, Shanelle Vilson, and Connor Ziolkowski.
The meet at Monmouth will be held at Kessler Stadium, with events scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
Saint Peter's is projected to finish seventh in the MAAC men's standings and ninth in the women's standings. Sacred Heart was picked to win the men's title, while the Quinnipiac women's team is projected to take the top spot.
ABOUT THE PEACOCKS
Amari Campbell looks to headline Saint Peter's field team this outdoor season. The long jumper is currently riding a seven-meet podium streak dating back to indoor season and has surpassed the 24-foot mark in each of his last three outings. Last season, he recorded three podium finishes, including a pair of gold medals at the Peacock Invitational and Peacock Relays.
Kennedy Vaughn is the thrower to watch on the women's side. Vaughn recorded multiple top-five finishes in the discus, shot put, and hammer throw, including a pair of gold medals at the Peacock Invitational, which earned her MAAC Field Athlete of the Week honors.
On the track,
Karilynn Jimenez looks to lead the women's team. She recorded multiple top-10 finishes last outdoor season, including a third-place finish in the 100m at the Metropolitan Championships, a pair of gold medals in the 4x100 relay, and first place in the 4x200 relay at the Peacock Relays. Jimenez was one of three athletes to qualify for the ECAC Championships, finishing 11th in the 100m and 13th in the 200m with times that rank second and third in program history, respectively.
Ameen Zubair had an impressive rookie debut last season. Zubair competed on several relay squads during the outdoor campaign, collecting four gold medals and a silver between the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. He also led off the 4x100 relay that broke a nine-year-old program record and ran the third leg of the 4x400 relay team that captured gold at the Penn Relays, a time that ranks 10th all-time in program history.
ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
FDU finished the indoor season with ten medals at the NEC Championships. Ethan Ruffin broke the NEC Indoor Track & Field high jump record, clearing 2.15 meters to win gold. Xavier Hayletts also claimed first place as the fastest man in the NEC, running a time of 6.87 in the 60m.
Tata Coulibaly led the women's team, winning the weight throw with a distance of 17.04 meters and earning NEC Most Valuable Field Athlete honors at the 2026 championships.
The Knights competed in one meet before facing off with the Peacock at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invite. FDU's opening weekend was highlighted by three gold finishes, with Tata Coulibaly winning the women's hammer throw, Ethan Ruffin winning the men's high jump, and Myles Taylor placing first in the open men's high jump.
