JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Redshirt senior guard
Brent Bland of the Saint Peter's men's basketball program was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) First Team, the conference announced Wednesday morning. All-MAAC teams were selected and voted on by the league's 13 head coaches.
Joining Bland on the All-MAAC First Team were Gavin Doty (Siena), Amarri Monroe (Quinnipiac), Kevair Kennedy (Merrimack), Ernest Shelton (Merrimack) and Anquan Hill (Sacred Heart).
Bland put together a tremendous 2025-26 campaign with the Peacocks, playing in and starting all 28 regular season games for the blue and white. He led Saint Peter's in points (391), steals (58), 3-pointers (76), defensive rebounds (101) and minutes played (927) while being a vocal leader on and off the court.
Bland finished 13th in the MAAC in scoring (14.0 points per game) and third in the MAAC in steals (2.1 steals per game), helping the Peacocks secure the No. 2-seed in the conference. His 2.1 steals per game also ranked 27th nationally.
The guard from Wheatley Heights, N.Y., started the season with the hot hand, scoring a career-high 27 points in the Peacocks' win over FDU. He went on to score 25 points in the next game against VCU and then 21 points at Delaware. Over the three-game stretch, Bland knocked down 17 3-pointers and totaled 15 rebounds and eight steals.
As the season went on, Bland continued to have success, scoring double-digit points in all but three games. He will look to keep things going in Atlantic City, N.J., when the Peacocks play their first game of the MAAC Tournament in the Quarterfinal Round on Mar. 6, at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
