Bland Earns All-Met Third Team Honors

NEW YORK –  Brent Bland of the Saint Peter's men's basketball team was selected to the 2025-26 All-Met Division I Third Team, as announced by the Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) on Wednesday. He becomes the 44th Peacocks men's basketball player to earn All-Met honors.

"It means everything to me", said Bland when he found out he earned All-Met honors. "To be in a position to represent not just the school, but the people before me is honestly amazing. The most recent player to win this award from our program was Corey Washington, and I saw the hard work and dedication that was put in every day. I'm just blessed and thankful for this opportunity. I wouldn't be able to be here without our coaches and teammates believing in me, so thank you."

Being named All-Met is a unique honor in that there are 21 colleges and universities and more than 300 men's players under the MBWA Division I umbrella.

The 2025-26 All-Met teams will be honored at the 93rd MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on Thursday, April 23, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY. The Haggerty dinner, which also will be livestreamed, is the longest-running, media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.

Bland put together an outstanding 2025–26 season for the Peacocks, starting in all 29 games. He led Saint Peter's in points (391), steals (58), 3-pointers (76), defensive rebounds (101) and minutes played (927).

Bland finished 13th in the MAAC in scoring at 14 points per game and ranked third in the conference with 2.1 steals per game, helping the Peacocks earn the No. 2 seed. His 2.1 steals per game also placed him 27th nationally. Bland remained consistent throughout the season, reaching double figures in scoring in all but three games.
