Saint Peter’s Men’s 4x400 Goes Back-to-Back at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA– The Saint Peter's track and field programs competed at the Penn Relays at Franklin Field, highlighted by the men's 4x400m relay defending its title in the College Men's 4x400 CTC, going back-to-back for the second consecutive year.

RESULTS
DAY ONE

The women's 4x100m relay of Karilynn Jimenez, Samyah Wilson, Dezoara Diaz, and Shanelle Vilson opened competition for Saint Peter's in the College Women's 4x100 College, stopping the clock at 48.39—a new season-best time and the ninth-fastest mark in program history—to place 24th overall.

Quinnipiac took the top spot and advanced to the finals with the only time to dip under 46 seconds (45.07). The top nine finishers punched tickets to Saturday's finals, scheduled for 3:55 p.m.

The women's 4x400m relay quartet of Jimenez, Diaz, Angela Owusu-Ansah, and Adriana Rollins battled hard and narrowly missed the podium in the College Women's 4x400 CTC, finishing fourth overall in 4:06.67.

Jimenez opened the relay with a 1:02.25 split, closely behind Holy Cross. Diaz ran the second leg in 1:00.74, holding fourth place before passing the baton to Owusu-Ansah, who also clocked 1:00.74. Rollins anchored with the fastest split of the quartet in 59.99.

New Haven claimed first in 3:58.96, followed by Stockton (3:59.55) and Holy Family (4:05.53).

The men's 4x400m relay defended Saint Peter's title in the College Men's 4x400 CTC for the second consecutive year. The quartet of Ajani Peck-Wekunda, Connor Ziolkowski, Favour Owolabi, and Brian Yeager finished more than a second ahead of the field, stopping the clock at 3:17.33.

Peck-Wekunda led off with a 50.65 split, putting Saint Peter's in first. Ziolkowski followed with a 49.24 split, maintaining the lead. Owolabi sprinted the third leg in 48.74, holding off a tight challenge as both second- and third-place runners also dipped under 49 seconds. Yeager anchored with the fastest split of the event, crossing the finish line in 48.71.

New Haven claimed second in 3:18.59, while Ramapo finished third in 3:19.05.


DAY TWO
Amari Campbell competed on the final day of Penn Relays in the College Men's Long Jump Championship, securing a top-five finish with a leap of 7.29m (23'11").

Rutgers' Sincere Robinson claimed first place with the only mark to surpass 25 feet, jumping 7.65m (25'1 ¼"). Voorhees' Jaylen Burris finished second in 7.47m (24'6 ¼"), followed by Navy's William Pierce in third with 7.39m (24'3").

The Saint Peter's track and field program prepares for their final tune-up before the MAAC Championships at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational, May 1-2 at Weaver Stadium.
