LOUDONVILLE, NY- The Peacocks (5-38, 1-21 MAAC) grab their first conference win of the season against Siena (16-26, 8-14 MAAC) on Friday afternoon.
Kurt Thomas started on the mound for Saint Peter's for five innings, where he faced 22 batters and only allowed 9 hits, followed by
Linden Reaburn, who pitched for four innings, faced 13 batters, and allowed one hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED-
The Peacocks opened up the scoreboard with a
Bobby Lavely grounded ball to second base, sending
Joey Dwyer to home on an unearned run. They went on to score four more unanswered runs between the second and third innings.
Siena would get a run at the bottom of the third but would be quickly shut down by barrage of runs from The Peacocks starting with a Dwyer hit to left field sending
Chase Fogg home, then a hit to right field by
RJ Azarieh adding a run which was followed by a hit to left field by Lavely and finally a homerun to left field by
Alex Manent which closed out the inning with three more runs.
Siena would add five more runs between the bottom of the fifth and sixth inning, which was followed by Saint Peter's where they would respond with two more runs at the top of the seventh inning.
The Saint Bernards will go on to score four more runs in the eighth and ninth innings, with the Peacocks adding a run at the top of the ninth to close out the game as a 14-10 victory for the Peacocks.
