JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Saint Peter's University Athletics officially unveiled a series of enhancements to its indoor athletic complex on Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Director of Athletics
Katie Arcuri and University President
Hubert Benitez. The new and improved "bubble" is designed to further elevate the training, competition and student-athlete experience for Peacock programs.
The improvements include upgraded training areas, newly installed turf and several track lanes designed to support year-round development across multiple sports. The updates reflect Saint Peter's continued commitment to providing its student-athletes with resources that match the demands of Division I competition.
Originally opened in 1975, the indoor athletic complex has long served as a foundational space for Saint Peter's student-athletes. Over the decades, it has evolved alongside the department's growth, and the latest round of enhancements marks a new chapter in its transformation, blending its rich history with modern amenities designed for today's collegiate athlete.
The refreshed space will benefit a wide range of Peacock teams, offering increased flexibility for practice, conditioning and skill work regardless of weather conditions. The project will play a key role in recruiting, showcasing Saint Peter's investment in athletic excellence and its dedication to the development of its student-athletes.
The enhancements to the indoor complex are also part of a broader investment in the Yanitelli Recreation Center, which continues to serve as the hub of Saint Peter's Athletics. The facility is home to a state-of-the-art basketball/volleyball arena that provides a premier game-day atmosphere for Peacock fans, along with a recently upgraded swimming pool that supports both collegiate competition and student recreation. Together, these features reinforce the University's commitment to offering top-tier facilities for its student-athletes and the campus community.
