OLEAN, N.Y.- The Saint Peter's Peacocks are heading up to Olean, NY for their first contest of the 2026 season against St. Bonaventure at the Tom 80' and Michelle Marra Athletics Field Complex on Aug.10 at 1 p.m. ET.
The Peacocks are filled with new hope for this upcoming season, as they welcomed Sammy Adjei as the program's 12th head coach back in April. Adjei spent three seasons with Caldwell University, where he led the Cougars to their strongest season ever in 2025.
Adjei spoke positively about his group ahead of the 2026 season stating, "preseason has been really positive for us. We've challenged the group physically and tactically, but more importantly, we've started to establish the identity and standards we want for this program".
"Our expectation is to compete every day, represent Saint Peter's the right way, and continue getting better as the season progresses," he continued.
Among the Peacocks key returners are senior forward Julia Pinho Magno and sophomore forward Mayla McLean. Pinho Magno led the team with five goals and McLean led the team in shots on goal totaling 17. Key additions to the team include junior midfielder Melissa Pires and junior defender Ayla Fraser. Both players hail from Caldwell University, where they played under Adjei. Pires started in all 19 games for the Cougars where she totalled four goals and seven assists. Fraser also started in all 19 games and had 2 goals and 2 assists with 15 shots.
Bonnies also made key changes to their coaching staff, naming Ray Leone as head coach back in February.
Saint Peter's finished their last season 6-9-3 overall, whereas Bonnies finished with a 3-13-2 record, going 0-10 in the Atlantic 10.
HISTORY WITH THE BONNIES
The Bonnies are 3-0-1 all time against the Peacocks. Saint Peter's most positive outcome came after a 1-1 tie last season on Aug. 28, 2025, at Jaroshack Field. Julia Pinho Magno scored the Peacocks' lone goal, which was assisted by Alexa De Barros.
The Peacocks kick off with Bonnies on Aug.16 at 1p.m. ESPN+ will be live streaming the game.
