JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Metro Conference announced the 2026-27 men's basketball conference schedule Thursday afternoon, unveiling that Saint Peter's will play the first-ever Metro basketball game against Manhattan on Dec. 2.
Like last year, each Metro team plays 20 conference games, 10 at home and 10 on the road.
The Peacocks are set to play against Sacred Heart, Rider, Merrimack, Siena, Canisius, Niagara, Iona, Marist, Manhattan and Quinnipiac in Jersey City. On the road, they will make trips to Manhattan, Quinnipiac, Canisius, Niagara, Mount St. Mary's, Rider, Merrimack, Fairfield, Sacred Heart and Iona.
In the month of December, Saint Peter's will play just one away conference game and one home conference game. Then in January, the Peacocks will have five road games and five home games. SPU plays its final eight Metro games in February, split home and away. The Metro Championship will be held in Atlantic City, N.J., from Mar. 4-9 with the top-10 teams making the tournament.
Saint Peter's is looking to replicate what it did in conference play last year, going 14-6 and finishing second among the 13 teams. The Peacocks were an impossible team to beat at Run Baby Run Arena, as they wound up with a perfect 10-0 record in conference when playing at home.
