Peacocks Battle Seton Hall in Four-Set Tournament Match

COLLEGE PARK, MD- The Peacocks (0-9) fell to Seton Hall (6-3) in four sets (25-14, 22-25, 25-22, 25-15) in the second game of the tournament Saturday evening.

Saint Peter's had four aces and 40 kills, with Addison Baglio and Valeria Pagan Munoz carrying the scoring load.

SET ONE-

Seton Hall would start the set off with two points, with the Peacocks answering back with a point of their own.

Later in the set, the Pirates would add five points to put the match at  11-19 in their favor, with the Peacocks adding a point to begin a comeback.

Seton Hall added six more points and denied SPU to finish the set, 25-14.

SET TWO-

Saint Peter's would start the next set with a point from a kill by Munoz, with the Pirates answering back in quick succession.

Later in the set, the Peacocks would add five points with the help of Munoz as she continued to add several kills to her line.

Both teams would go point for point till the Peacocks shut the door with another Kill by Munoz to end the set.

SET THREE-

SPU looked to continue with the momentum as they would start the next set with two points, with Seton Hall adding a point of their own.

Seton Hall would begin their comeback with a five-point run, with the Peacocks stopping them with a kill by Victoria Pruvost.

The set would end with the Pirates going on a three-point run to take a 1-2 series lead.

SET FOUR-

The final set would start similarly to the last two, with the Peacocks getting a quick point on the board.

Seton Hall would go on a three-point run to take the lead, to have the series at 8-7.

Later in the match, the Pirates would add three more points, with SPU adding two of their own by a kill from Karolina T. Rodriguez and an attack error from a serve by Alondra Fargas.

 

The Pirates would end the set with a two-point run to end it at 25-15 and end the series at 1-3.

The Peacocks look to end the final day of the tournament strong as they face tournament host Maryland tomorrow at 1 p.m. E.T.
