JERSEY CITY, N.J.-  The Peacocks (0-11) dropped the first game of their three-game stretch as they were swept (22-25, 13-25, 10-25)  by LIU.

Saint Peter's recorded 29 kills and 29 assists, with Meleksu Ozmen logging 14 assists and Alondra Fargas 12.

​

Valeria Pagan Munoz carried the Peacocks on the offensive end with nine kills, in addition to Victoria Pruvost getting seven of her own.

​

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE-

The first set would be the most competitive out of the three as Saint Peter's fired first with two points, both assists coming from Fargas.

​

The Sharks responded with six straight points following a couple of attack errors from SPU.

​

The Peacocks began a comeback one point at a time, starting with Korlina T. Mendez getting a kill following another Fargas assist.

​

Soon after, SPU began gaining momentum as, later in the match, the set sat at a 20-20 tie.

​

LIU would go on to pull away with a four-point run, with Saint Peter's responding with a kill by Mendez.

​

The Sharks put an end to the Peacocks' comeback hopes with a kill to end the set at 22-25 in favor of LIU.

SET TWO-

In the second, it was an offensive barrage from LIU as they would go on two runs, with the first being an early three-point run and the second being an eight-point run to have it at 3-12.

​

The Peacocks would try to respond with kills from Addison Baglio and Indria T. Benitez Dumeng, but it was not enough to stop the Sharks as the set ended at 13-25

​

SET THREE-

It was much the same in the third and final set as LIU kept on going for long stretches, with Julia Whaley and Mendez trying to bring back the Peacocks from a 9-23 deficit towards the end of the match.

​

The set would end shortly after as the Sharks would go on a two-point run to ende it at 10-25 in favor of LIU.
