Peacocks Fall to Morgan State in Four-Set Battle

BALTIMORE, MD-  The Peacocks (0-5)  fall short in four sets (23-25, 25-11, 21-25,17-25) against Morgan State (1-3) as they tried to mount a comeback late in the third set.
Valeria Pagan Munoz led the SPU in aces alongside Markela Tsagkopoulou, adding 20 kills to her line in a stellar performance.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE- Saint Peter's and Morgan State would go blow for blow as neither team wanted to give in, with the Bears taking an early 3-0 lead. This was then followed by Tsagkopoulou serving an ace to cut the lead to one point.
Both teams would continue to go back and forth till Morgan State went on a five-point run, ultimately turning the momentum in the Bears' favor and ending the Set at 23-25
SET TWO- The next set followed a different narrative as the Peacocks went on a 10-1 run, putting Morgan State in the dust.
The Bears would try to come back with a two-point run late in the set to cut the lead down to ten points, but it was not enough for them as the Peacocks would end the set with two kills by Tsagkopoulou.
SET THREE- Saint Peter's would start in a similar fashion with a three-point run followed by a quick response from Morgan State, starting the set at 3-1.
The Peacocks and the Bears would continue to battle until Saint Peter's began to pull away with a two-point run.
The momentum would shift in the final four serves, with Morgan State overtaking the lead to end Set three.
SET FOUR- The next set would see the Peacocks struggle as the Bears went on a four-point run early in the set, with a response by Tsagkopoulou to cut the lead down to three points at 4-7
Morgan State would put up three more points right after, as both teams continued to battle it out throughout the set, with Julia Whaley helping the Peacocks get another two points on the board with a kill and an error to help to bring the score up to 16-19.
Unfortunately, SPU's efforts were not enough to pull out a fifth set as the Bears would go on to put up three unanswered points to end the game at 17-25.
