EDISON, NJ - Men's basketball freshman forward,
Fousseyni Drame has been named by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as the Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office today.
Drame had a career night for the Peacocks, scoring a career-best 15 points and grabbing a career-high nine rebounds in Saint Peter's dominating 86-70 win over local in-state rival Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday night. The Bamako, Mali native connected on his first career three-pointer and made 4-of-5 free throws in the win. Drame also added one block and one assist to his stat line in the game.
On the season, Drame is averaging 6.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, having scored in double-digits the past two contests. His 5.0 rebounding average ranks top-20 in MAAC.
Drame is joined by Monmouth's Ray Salnave, who was named as the Player of the Week.
Drame and the Peacocks are back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 18, when they travel to Hartford, CT to face UConn at 7 p.m.
