KANSAS CITY, MO - The 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Year and unanimous All-MAAC First Team selection
Dominic Laws joined fellow unanimous All-MAAC First Team selection
Jordan Jowers on the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's All-East Regional Second-Team, as announced by the organization today.
Saint Peter's leads the MAAC in representation this year on the All-Region team, while Iona, Marist, and Quinnipiac each placed one player to the All-East Second Team. The awards mark the first time a Saint Peter's individual has earned recognition from the United States Coaches association since 1960.
Laws, the MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, led the MAAC in a plethora of categories this year, recording a league-best 31 points. Laws also boasted top marks in the league in shots (76), shots per game (4.00), points (31), points per game (1.63), goals (12) and goals per game (.63). Additionally, Laws ranked fourth in the league in assists with seven helpers on the season. One of those 12 tallies was scored during the 2019 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship Final. Laws earned those accolades despite not having been selected to the Preseason All-MAAC team.
Jowers also had a fantastic year on the pitch, earning a unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team while helping to lead the Peacocks to a historic season. The junior racked up 24 points on the year with nine goals and six assists; the Middlesbrough, England native also was one of the Peacocks' most clutch performers, as indicated by his team-leading four game-winning markers. During the MAAC tournament, Jowers found the back of the net in both of the Peacocks' postseason matches, including the game-winner in the 87th minute against Marist that sent Saint Peter's to its first MAAC Championship Final since 2010.
