Jeffrey Peters Leading Individual Field; Men’s Golf Remains in Second Place at MAAC Championship

With round two suspended due to weather, the round will resume at 7 a.m. tomorrow

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – Due to inclement weather, play during round two of the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship was suspended. Through the nearly two rounds of the championship, Jeffrey Peters holds the number one spot on the individual leaderboard while Saint Peter's remains in second place.
 
Team Notes
  • The field's top three seeds in Saint Peter's, Iona, and Rider were unable to finish the second round.
  • The Peacocks remain behind top-seed Iona (+7) after posting a 479 (+14) total, with Rider (+15) in third place.
  • The remainder of the field completed the entire second round and follow in the team rankings; Siena (+26), Canisius (+29), Fairfield (+37), Monmouth (+42), Manhattan (+43), and Niagara (+74).
 
Individual Notes
  • Peters moved into the top spot on the leaderboard with his 60 round through 15 holes.
  • Through the almost two completed rounds, Peters has a 129 (-2), keeping him one stroke ahead of yesterday's leader, Oisin Deveruex (-1) from Iona.
  • Peters led the Peacocks with three birdies on the front nine and an eagle on the fourth hole.  
  • Mike Winter dropped one spot to an 11th place tie, holding a card of 73-63=136 (+5) through 15.
  • Winter made birdies on the 10th and fourth holes respectively.
  • Melvin Morales fell six slots to a tie for 13th place, shooting a plus-six, 72-65=137 (+6)   through 15 holes of the second round.
  • Morales birdied on the 12th and fourth holes.
  • Stanley Garrant, 80-64=144 (+13) moved up five spots from the first round, into a 31st place tie with three holes remaining and David Powers, 78-67=145 (+14) closed the first 15 holes of the round for Saint Peter's tied for 34th.
