AUSTIN, TX – Following the second round of the NCAA Austin Regional at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas, sophomore
Jeffrey Peters shot six strokes better than the opening round.
Regional Notes
- In the second round, Peters carded a nine-over par (80), a six-stroke improvement from his first-round score.
- Peters sits in 72nd place, a one spot improvement from the opening round with a regional total of 86-80=166 (+24).
- The Staatsburg, NY native began the round with two straight pars on the first two holes, before alternating between bogeys and pars from the third through the eighth.
- He ended the front nine with a birdie on the ninth to put him two-over par.
- On the back nine, Peters hit par on the 10th and 12th, double-bogeys on the 11th and 13th, and a birdie on the 14th.
- He closed out the round with four straight bogeys.
- The individual leaderboard has a five-way tie for first place with the leaders knotted at four-under par.
