EDISON, NJ – 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Golf Champion and MVP, sophomore
Jeffrey Peters has been named as the Pepsi Zero MAAC Male Student-Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office today.
Peters closed out his sophomore campaign in the NCAA Austin Regional this week. Peters won the 2019 MAAC Men's Golf Individual Championship, becoming just the third player in program history to win the title. He finished the MAAC tournament with a final card of 69-74-72=215 (-1) en route to the 2019 individual crown and McLeod Trophy for the Most Outstanding Golfer (MVP). Peters was also the only golfer in the field to finish the three-round tournament under par. Peters' combined two-round total of 143 was the fifth-best total in Peacock history at MAACs and his final card of 215 was the second-best ever final card for a Peacock at the championship, just three strokes behind the all-time low of 212. Additionally, he earned All-MAAC honors and helped guide Saint Peter's to a runner-up finish at the championship.
