FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Following a grueling two-round, 36-hole slate to open the first day of competition of the fall, the Saint Peter's men's golf team found itself in ninth place in a 14-team field after the first two ledgers of The Doc Gimmler tournament hosted by St. John's University at Bethpage State Park.

Player Notes
- Junior Jeffrey Peters picked up where he left off from his sensational sophomore campaign that featured an individual league title. He carded back-to-back one-over-par 71 scores to finish the day in a tie for 13th place. He birdied the par-5 fifth and the par-four ninth and is two-over for the tournament thus far.
- Senior captain Stanley Garrant carded three birdies in each round and was one of 15 players in the field to card an even-par score (70) or lower after doing so during his first go-around on Saturday. He went five-over 75 in the second round and is just outside the top-20 at 145 heading into Sunday.
- Sophomore Melvin Morales rounded out the top-three individuals for SPU with a seven-over 147 for the afternoon. He shot a one-over 71 in the first round of the day and birdied six times overall. He was tied with redshirt freshman Caleb Rossi, who saw both of his rounds finish within a stroke of one another, in 35th place not he leader board.
- Senior captain David Powers rounded out the Saint Peter's contingent with a two-round scoring line of 12-over 152. He shot a three-over to start (73) with three birdies in the opening round.
