BOSTON, MA. – The Saint Peter's University track and field teams traveled to the Bay State over the weekend to compete in the two-day Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University. In a loaded field consisting of over 30 teams -- some of the region's best -- and unattached runners, several Peacocks put together exceptional performances.
Top Performances
- Freshman Jayaire King came in the top-10 in the men's 60-meter hurdles after finishing in 8.85 seconds.
- Sophomore Daniel Jn-Baptiste placed in the top-15 in the men's 60-meter dash in a field of over 50 competitors. He crossed the finish line in 7.21 seconds.
- In an event consisting of over 60 competitors, freshman Jarrett Gentles attained a top-15 finish in the men's 500-meter dash. He ran in 1:04.96.
- Rookie Jabari Higgs-Salaam posted a mark of 6.20 meters in the long jump for a 30th-place finish.
- Freshman Alexis Peterson highlighted the 60-meter finals with a seventh-place finish in 8.03 seconds and was one of three Peacocks in the top-20 of the finals of that event.
- In the women's 200-meter dash, senior Avosuahi Albert had another tremendous race as she came in the top-25 in a field of nearly 200 competitors. She finished in 25.20 seconds. She also was a 14th-place finish in the 400 meter finals (56.69).
- Fellow senior Ohunene Albert and freshman Vernetta Gosier placed in the top-45 in the women's 200-meter dash as they both finished in 25.66 seconds.
- Gosier also was a 25th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a sub-10-second time of 9.61.

Saint Peter's returns to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island next weekend for the two-day Metropolitan Indoor Championships starting on Friday (Jan. 31) and concluding the following afternoon.
