2021 Men's Golf Spring Schedule
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's University men's golf program has announced a five-tournament slate for the spring portion of its 2020-21 campaign.
After their promising 2019-20 campaign was cut short due to the coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic, the Peacocks have lined up a diverse tournament field that will keep them within the region. Saint Peter's was last in action during the fall of 2019 when it placed sixth or better at all but one of their five tournaments it competed in – including winning one team tournament title over the course of that run.
The Peacocks will kick off the spring in nearby Branchburg, New Jersey, when it hosts the Saint Peter's Invitational on March 15 at Fox Hollow Golf Club. The tournament will feature a practice round the day prior before a 36-hole, single-round event unfolds. The last time Saint Peter's hosted an invitational was in the spring of 2017.
That will kick off a busy month of action for the program, which will play in four different states over a roughly six-week span. In addition to the Garden State, the Peacocks will play in Connecticut, Maryland and Pennsylvania. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has not yet announced its plans for the 2021 MAAC Championships, which have typically been held in Florida.
After the Peacock Invitational, the team will participate in the Battle at Rum Pointe, a two-day event hosted by Iona College from March 27-28 at Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links in Maryland. A week later, the program will head to Rolling Green Golf Club in Pennsylvania for the Columbia Spring Invitational on April 3.
The following weekend, the Peacocks will compete in Sacred Heart Spring Invitational held at the Great River Golf Club from April 11-12 for a 36-hole tournament. Three years ago, the team placed second at the same event.
Finally, the Peacocks round out the spring at the Lafayette College-hosted Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational from April 18-19 at Steel Club in Hellertown, Pennsylvania. Saint Peter's placed eighth at the same tournament in the spring of 2019, which will serve as the final regular season event.
Future schedule changes, including the addition/confirmation of the 2021 MAAC Championships, will be posted at a later date.
