Senior Spotlight: Victoria Babcock

Saint Peter's Athletics has been fortunate to have so many incredible senior student-athletes who have contributed to the positive momentum not only of their specific program, but the entire athletic department and the University as a whole. To celebrate who they are not only on their respective playing surface, but in the classroom, in the community and more, we are excited to present our 2019-20 Saint Peter's Athletics Senior Spotlight series!

When did you start playing soccer and how did you wind up sticking with it for as long as you have?
I started playing when I was 3. I stuck with it because when I moved to Jersey from Florida I had to pick between gymnastics and soccer and I chose soccer!

Who is your favorite athlete (professional) and why?
My favorite profession athlete is David Beckham. I've always loved how he played and I had the same jersey number as him growing up.

If you weren't playing soccer, what other sports would you be competing in?
If I weren't a soccer player, I would like to go gymnastics.

What was on your pregame playlist?
I'm not big into listening to music before games. I don't really care for it, but when I did I always listened to Bohemian Rhapsody.

As a senior (and captain) on this year's team, how did you lead the group? What was your style?
As I captain, I was very laid back. I wanted everyone to feel like they could come to me and not be intimidated.

Who is the funniest person on the team and why?
I think the funniest person on the team is Victoria Scarratt. Everything she does just cracks me up.

What are you majoring in and what has been your favorite class?
I am majoring in accounting and minoring in business law. My favorite class is a class I'm in now called cultural anthropology.

What is your favorite athletics memory during your time at Saint Peter's?
My favorite SPU soccer memory was going to the Disney tournament!

How are your post-graduation plans shaping up? Any jobs/grad school/etc. lined up?
I have a full-time order at KPMG for after I get my master's degree.

What will make you most proud to be a Saint Peter's University alumna?
As an alumna, I will be most proud of seeing all of my friends grow and get their dream jobs.

If you could say one thing to your returning teammates next year as one last message of advice/wisdom, what would it be?
One piece of advice would be to enjoy every aspect of the rest of your college experience because you never know what could be next.
