Laws and Jowers Named to United Soccer Coaches All-East Regional Team

Senior duo collects second-team honors for second consecutive year

KANSAS CITY, MO - Senior forward Dominic Laws and senior captain Jordan Jowers continued to build on their impressive legacies this week, as the duo has been named to the 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-East Regional Second Team, as announced by the organization this morning. The recognition marks the second straight year that the pair has earned recognition from the organization.

Laws adds to his collection of back-to-back honors with the All-East Second Team distinction after finishing 2020-21 as the first Peacock in program history to earn back-to-back Player of the Year honors, having received the award following the 2019 season. This season, the Sunderland, England native finished tied for first in the league in goals scored with five, as well as finishing tied first in goals per game at .714. Laws also paced the MAAC in shots on goal per game, finishing the year as the most efficient striker in the league with 1.71 shots on goal per game. Laws finished the year with 11 points, and ranked second among all MAAC players in points per game with 1.56, coming up short only of his classmate Jowers. Laws also earned MAAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors on April 6, 2021, following his three-goal, one-assist performance during the prior week.

Jowers enjoyed a highly successful year in his own right during 2020-21, finishing the year atop the MAAC leaderboards in points per game with 1.71. Jowers finished tied for first among the league's assist leaders, tallying four helpers on the year. The senior also tied fifth in goals on the year, scoring four goals through seven games this season. The senior captain was a terror to opposing defenses this season, tallying 24 shots on the season, which places him second in the MAAC standings in shots taken. Additionally, The Middlesbrough, England native finished the year with one golden goal, scoring the game winner against Fairfield in the team's 4-3 win over the Stags in Jersey City on March 26.
