SOUTH KENT, Conn. – Senior Jimmy Apostolico picked up exactly where he left off last spring as the Peacocks' top performer on the links, as he and the rest of the Saint Peter's University men's golf team wrapped up their opening tournament of the fall season after a busy two days at the Hartford Invitational in Connecticut.
Apostolico came out firing with an opening round of two-over 74 and was in the top-30 of the tournament's individual rankings on the way to carding a 15-over 231 over the three-round, two-day, 54-hole event.

- Apostolico, who wrapped up his redshirt sophomore year last spring by finishing within a stroke of earning all-conference honors at the 2021 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, got his senior year going on a similar note. All three of his scorecards ended in the 70s range, as his two-over 74 to start the tournament was tied for the lowest single-round score by a Peacock over the last two days.
- First-year sophomore Antonio Conde Ortega was the next-best finisher for Saint Peter's; following an opening round eight-over-par, the Bayamon, Puerto Rico, native posted a second-round three-over-75 and wrapped up his Tuesday with a seven-over-79 that featured a birdie to start the day. In total, Conde Ortega finished 18-over for the tournament and inside the top-80.
- Senior Melvin Morales played to back-to-back rounds in the 70s on the way to a 21-over-237; his best round was the second, as he carded a a four-over-76.
- Classmate Caleb Rossi had perhaps the best start of any golfer on Tuesday, beginning the third round with an eagle that set the tone for a two-over-74 for his final 18 holes, a mark that tied Apostolico for the best single-round performance by a Peacock for the tournament. Rossi placed just outside of the top-100.
- Finally, sophomore Adam Varela rounded out the Peacock quintet at 263 for the tournament; he carded back-to-back 12-over scores over the first and second rounds.
