NEW YORK - The Saint Peter's University track & field teams returned to The Armory to participate in the MLK Relays on Friday. The day was headlined by a first place finish on the women's side, a duo of second place finishes on the men's, and a second place finish in the mixed sprint medley.

Balikis Iyiola, Abigail Vital, Mikell Dolo, and Alexus Smith combined to capture a first place finish in the 4x55 meter shuttle hurdle with a time of 34.62. This is the first time since before 2010 that the Peacocks have competed in this event.

Sophomore Mikell Dolo was a factor in another event on Friday, teaming with Reyanna Henderson, Diamond McLaughlin, and Shelby Piccinic to take third place in the 1600 sprint medley with a time of 4:28.99. The team last competed in this event in 2016, when they placed 19th in the Seahawk Shootout with a time of 4:25.31.

Senior Iria Paz placed fifth in the triple jump relay with a distance of 9.72m.

The quartet of Devon Bembridge, Bayyan Dallas, Petrus Benjamin, and Michael Conover nabbed a second place finish in the distance medley with a time of 11:00.12. The group shaved 50 seconds off of the previous distance medley time of 11:50.29 achieved at the MAAC Championships on February 22, 2020.

Two Peacocks placed in the long jump relay. Michael Ilesanmi finished in third with a distance of 6.56m while teammate Javon Jenkins finished in 13th with a distance of 5.72m.

The Peacocks have seven days off before traveling to Staten Island for the first time this year, when they participate in the Great Dane Classic at Ocean Breeze, set to take place on January 21st, 2022.
