ABOUT SAINT PETER'S
Sophomore guard Jada Leonard leads the Peacocks in scoring, averaging 13.2 points per game. Freshman forward Fatmata Janneh leads the team in rebounds, averaging 7.5 per game.
In the Peacocks' last game against Rider, the team had three scorers who all reached double-digits in points. Leonard led the way with 24 points, senior guard Rachel Kuhl contributed 17 points, and Janneh tacked on 14 points.
Early in the first quarter, Kuhl assisted the Peacocks in gaining the upper hand with three consecutive three-pointers. At the end of the first, she was 3-of-3 in three-pointers and secured 10 points.
At the end of the third quarter, Leonard made a buzzer beating layup to extend the Peacocks advantage to 54-40 heading into the fourth.
With a combined total of 24 rebounds and 13 steals in the game, the Peacocks won their second conference game of the season.
ABOUT NIAGARA
The Niagara Women's Basketball team enters the game with a record of 10-11. They are currently 7-4 in the MAAC. The Purple Eagles are currently third in the MAAC.
In their last game, the Purple Eagles defeated Canisius 65-55. Junior guard Aaliyah Parker led the team with 15 points, while graduate student Angel Parker tacked on 14 points.
Aaliyah Parker leads the team in points per game with an average of 11.6. She also leads the team in rebounds, averaging 5.1 per game.
THE SERIES
This is the 81st matchup in history between the Purple Eagles and the Peacocks. The all-time series is 48-32 in favor of the Peacocks.
