Peacocks Kick Off Outdoor Season with Senior Day Dual vs. FDU

JERSEY CITY, NJ– The Saint Peter's track and field programs opened their outdoor season with a head-to-head dual against the FDU Knights Wednesday afternoon at Lincoln Park. Prior to the start of the meet, the Peacocks honored their graduating class with a senior ceremony.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
In the field, Alia Moreira opened her collegiate debut in the Peacock Invitational, claiming first in the discus with a mark of 36.52m. She was the only athlete to surpass the 110-foot mark and currently ranks second in the conference. Alyana Meador followed with a 30.56m throw, a new personal best. Lourdes Lawson rounded out the top three with a distance of 29.83m in her outdoor debut.

Lawson claimed first in the shot put, throwing a mark of 12.69m, followed by Meador (10.98m) and Kennedy Vaughn (10.13m), with all three throws ranking second, third, and fourth in the conference, respectively.

Chloe Montgomery took first in the long jump with a distance of 4.95m, sitting fifth overall in MAAC play.

On the track, the 4x100m team of Samyah Wilson, Mercedes Cruz-Fletcher, Dezoara Diaz, and Karilynn Jimenez clocked in at 51.53. In the 1500m, Shirelysa Rivas finished in 5:42.37.

Cruz-Fletcher and Diaz, along with Maya McKinley and Adriana Rollins, took the track for the 4x400m–the first time since 2024–stopping the clock in 4:43.10.

Jimenez blazed to gold in the 100m, finishing ahead of FDU's Sianna Lloyd with a time of 13.13. Shanelle Vilson finished in 13.38 for third, with Diaz (13.50) and Rollins (13.57) rounding out the top five.


MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Amari Campbell continued his long jump dominance, claiming first with a mark of 7.14m and currently sits atop the MAAC standings.

On the track, the 4x100m squad of Niles Thony, Dylan Williams, Desrick Hemans, and Neo Clark-Tabb stopped the clock at 43.99.

Gerardo Quaglia prevented an FDU sweep in the 1500m, claiming third with a time of 4:11.91. FDU's Sam Szczepanski (4:08.14) and Zach Kaden (4:08.56) took the top two spots. Sebastian Lopez finished in 4:26.75 for eighth, while Kenneth Montes rounded out the event in 4:47.45.

Connor Ziolkowski and Adeiza Albert competed head to head in the 400m hurdles, with Ziolkowski finishing first in 57.80 and Albert in 1:02.74, ranking fifth and ninth in the conference, respectively.

Johan Aparicio took home gold in the 800m–his first individual gold medal–with a time of 2:11.79. Regan St. John (unattached) claimed second in 2:11.97, with Solomon Dunham finishing third (2:12.97) and Christopher Hernandez fourth (2:14.27).

The Peacocks had two teams take on the Sprint Medley Relay (SMR). SPU A–Clark-Tabb, Brian Yeager, Ameen Zubair, and Michael Amakerclaimed first, finishing over 15 seconds ahead of the competition with a time of 3:40.85. SPU B (Niles Thony, Williams, Hemans, and Dunham) completed the event in 3:55.87.

The 4x4 quartet of Hemans, Ajani Peck-Wekunda, Yeager, and Cashieve Blair competed, finishing in 3:43.03.

UP NEXT
The Peacocks have a few days of rest before heading on the road to Monmouth's Home Opener at Kessler Stadium in West Long Branch, NJ, March 27-28.
