ATLANTIC CITY - The Saint Peter's women's basketball team (7-22, 6-14 MAAC) will take on Sacred Heart (12-17, 10-10 MAAC) in the First Round of the MAAC Tournament this Thursday, Mar. 5 at 2:30 p.m. ET at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

In 2025-26, the Peacocks faced the Pioneers once and were defeated at home in a 61-63 nail biter. In defeat however, the Peacocks played incredibly well, in particular with 25 points coming from the bench to go along with the 28 points combined by starters
De'Naya Rippey and
Nikola Zdenkova. The Pioneers in victory were led by Amelia Wood who scored a team best 18 points and Nalyce Dudley who posted a double double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Amelia Wood was selected to the All-MAAC Second Team and Sophie Nascimento was picked to the All-MAAC Rookie Team.

Rippey was voted to the All-MAAC Third Team following a standout year for the Peacocks. Rippey ended the season averaging 13.4 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game, finishing eighth in scoring and sixth in rebounds in the MAAC. The sophomore was a major contributor to the Peacocks success this season, leading the team in points, rebounds and steals. Game by game, Rippey was consistently a high point for Saint Peter's, posting six double doubles (points and rebounds) and setting her new career high in points five times this season, ending the year with a 30-point performance on the road against Manhattan, tied for the second most by any player in the MAAC this season.
