Peacocks Gear Up for Final Tune-Up Before MAAC Championships

PRINCETON, NJ— The Saint Peter's track and field teams gear up for their final tune-up before the MAAC Championships, competing in Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational at Weaver Stadium on May 1-2. The meet begins Friday at 2 p.m. and continues into Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Saint Peter's sent 17 athletes to the prestigious Penn Relays to compete against some of the top competition in the region.

The women's 4x100m relay raced to a season-best time of 48.39 in the College Women's 4x100. The 4x400m relay also battled hard and narrowly missed the podium in the College Women's 4x400 CTC, finishing fourth overall in 4:06.67.

On the men's side, the 4x400m relay defended Saint Peter's title in the College Men's 4x400 CTC for the second consecutive year, finishing more than a second ahead of the field and stopping the clock at 3:17.33.

In the field, Amari Campbell competed in the College Men's Long Jump Championship, securing a top-five finish with a mark of 7.29m (23'11").

PREVIEWING SOME OF THE COMPETITION
Princeton

Host school Princeton, has competed in multiple meets this outdoor season, including the Monmouth Season Opener, IC4A Championships, and Penn Relays.

At Monmouth, the women's javelin squad led the way, with Shea Greene winning the event with a throw of 53.18m and Niki Woods placing third at 43.73m.

At IC4As, the Tigers captured three event wins in the 1500m, 3000m steeplechase, and shot put.

During Penns, Brian Boler highlighted the weekend with a win in the steeplechase, pulling away in 8:40.29, winning by nearly three seconds.

On the women's side, first-year Laila Payne stood out, running 13.55 in the 100m hurdles for ninth in the prelims and the second-fastest time in program history.

The Broncs have participated in seven outdoor meets this season, including Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic, Penn Relays, and TCNJ's Lions Invitational.

At the Bison Outdoor Classic, Ethan Peffley turned in a strong performance in the 1500m, recording the fifth-fastest time in program history at 3:48.30.

The women were led by Maddie Dischert, who delivered a record-breaking performance in the 5000m, crossing in 16:34.70 to set a new program record.

During Penns, Camryn Thomas posted a strong showing in the 400m hurdles, placing 15th overall with a time of 52.44 on day one, while day two was highlighted by the men's 4x100m relay quartet advancing to the Eastern Finals in 42.11.

On the women's side, the distance medley relay team delivered one of the top performances of the weekend, posting the second-fastest time in program history at 11:47.07.

At TCNJ, Michael Bynes led the men by winning the 400m hurdles in 55.10, while Ethan Peffley claimed first in the 800m with a time of 1:51.69.

For the women, Kendra Green continued her standout freshman season, winning the shot put with a mark of 13.84m. Her performance earned her MAAC Rookie of the Week honors.

Manhattan
The Jaspers have competed in seven outdoor meets this season, including the Metropolitan Championships, ECAC/IC4A Championships, and TCNJ's Rick McCorkle Invitational.

At the Metropolitan Championships, the women were led by the 4x100m relay team, which posted a time of 47.75. Sophomore Oliviah Hussey and freshman Camryn Daley also recorded top-five finishes in the 100m, placing second and fourth in 12.05 and 12.35, respectively.

On the men's side, Thomas Bonsignore placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.28, while Jack Flanagan added a second-place finish in the 5000m.

During ECAC/IC4As, Tranira Booker rounded out the top five in the women's 100m finals with a time of 12.21, while Thea Dahl led the way in the hammer throw with a gold-medal mark of 58.51m.

On the men's side, Ivan Lytovchenko was the highest finisher, placing seventh in the high jump after clearing 2.00m.

At TCNJ, Brody Cox finished fourth in the men's 1500m with a time of 4:05.69, while Jack Flanagan logged a third-place finish in the men's 5000m in 15:58.11.

On the women's side, Paula Pallares placed second in the 5000m with a time of 19:28.78, while Diya Patel finished third in the 3000m in 12:33.22.
