Saint Peter's Welcomes Adjei As Next Women's Soccer Head Coach

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - After an extensive search, Saint Peter's University Athletics has announced the hiring of Sammy Adjei as the 12th head coach of the Peacocks women's soccer program, effective Apr. 20th.

Adjei arrives in Jersey City following a highly successful tenure at Caldwell University, where he led the Cougars to unprecedented success, including back-to-back appearances in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship game and the program's best record in school history. In 2025, he was named CACC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year after guiding Caldwell to a 13-3-4 record.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sammy to the Saint Peter's family," Arcuri said. "Sammy's passion for the game, commitment to student-athlete development and alignment with our mission make him an excellent leader for our women's soccer program. We are confident he will build a strong culture and continue to elevate our program both on and off the field."

During his time at Caldwell, Adjei transformed the program into a conference contender, earning home CACC Tournament games and establishing one of the top teams in the league. Prior to Caldwell, he served as head coach at Bloomfield College from 2020-23, where he led the program to one of its best seasons in nearly two decades.

"It's an honor to be named head coach at Saint Peter's," Adjei stated. "This is a proud university in the heart of Jersey City, and I'm excited to bring new energy and direction to the program. Our goal is to develop championship-level people while building a program that consistently competes at a high level. I'm looking forward to getting to work and building something special that Saint Peter's can be proud of."

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Adjei has worked extensively in player development as a College Pathway Director with SFL Club NJ and as CEO of Soccer Virtuoso. He has also coached at the USL2 level and with the Olympic Development Program.

A former standout player, Adjei earned NSCAA All-America honors at Iona University and went on to play professionally with the New York Red Bulls and in Denmark. He also represented both the United States at the youth national team level and Ghana at the U-20 level.

Adjei holds a bachelor's degree in business marketing from Iona University and an MBA from Rider University.
