The Peacocks gear up to hit the course at the 2018 UConn Invitational at GreatHorse.
The tournament will last three days from October 7-9 at the GreatHorse Golf Club in Hampden, Massachusetts.
The invitational will feature fellow MAAC members: Fairfield, Rider, and Siena.
Non-league teams in the field include: Bryant, Colgate, Cornell, Hartford, Lafayette, Lehigh, LIU Brooklyn, Sacred Heart, and host UConn.
The Peacocks lineup for the tournament will be: Mike Winter, Stanley Garrant, Melvin Morales, David Powers, and Michael Stewart.
The men's golf team is coming off a second-place finish in the season opener at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial in Simsbury, Connecticut last month.
After finishing the first round of the Ryan T. Lee Memorial in fifth place, the men staged a major comeback in the second round, helping them to finish the tournament in second place.
Junior David Powers had a great showing, finishing the tournament with a 145 (+1) and a fourth-place finish overall.
Sophomore Jeffrey Peters also contributed to the success of the team, finishing top 10 individually, shooting a 148 (+4) which was good for a ninth-place tie.

This Year's Squad

2017 MAAC Coach of the Year, Nick Dilio enters her third season as the head coach of the Peacocks men's golf team.
The Peacocks return six letterwinners from last year's squad.
Seniors Jose Cardona, Michael Stewart, and 2017 MAAC champion/McLeod Trophy (MVP) winner Mike Winter, juniors Stanley Garrant and David Powers, and sophomore Jeffrey Peters return.
The team's newcomers include: Jimmy Apostolico, Melvin Morales, and Caleb Rossi.
Both Winter and Peters are coming into this season after receiving All-MAAC honors at the 2018 MAAC Men's Golf Championship.

The Peacocks have a quick turnaround, heading to the Deal Country Club in Deal, NJ for the Hawk Invitational, on Thursday, October 11. The one day event is hosted by MAAC rival Monmouth University.
